NC Homeowners Insurance Home Enhancement Coverage (HE-7)
The HE-7 Form (with the HE-21 Extended Enhancement Endorsement) is the most complete Homeowners Form in North Carolina today. At ALLCHOICE, we refer to the HE-7 (w/ HE-21) as a "regular homeowners form (HO-3)" on steroids! Coverage is normally provided under the HE-7 Form as follows:
Coverage A (Dwelling) - Minimum amount determined by individual carrier (typically higher minimum than the HO-3)
Coverage B (Other Structures) - 20 Percent of Coverage A
Coverage C (Personal Property) - 70 Percent of Coverage A
Coverage D (Loss of Use) - 20 Percent of Coverage A
Coverage E (Personal Liability) - Minimum Coverage of $100,000
Coverage F (Medical Payments) - Minimum Coverage of $1,000
SHOULD I CHOOSE THE HO-3 OR THE HE-7?
NC Homeowners insurance Special Form (HO-3)
The HO-3 Form may be used to provide coverage on a single family home or townhouse. Coverage is normally provided under the Special Form as follows:

Coverage F (Medical Payments) - Minimum Coverage of $1,000
SHOULD I CHOOSE THE HO-3 OR HE-7?
NC Renters Insurance - Homeowners Contents Form (HO-4)
The HO-4 Form may be used if you rent a single family home or apartment. This form provides coverage for Personal Property. Coverage is normally provided under the Contents Form as follows:

Coverage D (Loss of Use) - Will be determined by the insurance carrier
Coverage E (Personal Liability) - Minimum Coverage of $100,000
Coverage F (Medical Payments) - Minimum Coverage of $1,000
NC Condo Insurance - Homeowners Unit-Owners Form (HO-6)
The HO-6 Form may be used if you own a condominium. This form provides for the condominium as well as Personal Property. Many times the actual Unit Owner will be responsible for protecting the "sheet-rock & in". Coverage is normally provided under the Unit-Owners Form as follows:

While adding the Identity Coverage Endorsement to your North Carolina Homeowners Insurance Policy is recommended, please be aware that these endorsements do offer limited protections. At ALLCHOICE, we have reviewed many Identity Protection Plans (outside of the Identity Endorsement on the Homeowners Policy). Through our own research, we recommend the Identity Program offered through Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. IDENTITY INSURANCE FAQ'S
Most Carriers provide a dollar maximum per policy period (typically $25,000). Many carriers provide reimbursement coverage to help insured victims restore their identity after a theft has been discovered. Case Management Services are included on some Identity Insurance Endorsements to assist the insured through the recovery process. Included are some common expenses that are normally covered:
2. Re-filing applications for loans, grants, or other credit instruments;
3. Certain legal fees;
4. Miscellaneous costs that directly arise from identity theft, up to $1,000;
5. Notarizing affidavits or other similar documents;
6. Unlimited ordering of credit reports;
7. Postage, phone, and shipping fees related to identity theft;
8. Mental health counseling for 12 months after the first discovery of the identity theft
What is identity theft?
What is the difference between credit card fraud and identity theft?
Fraudulent charges on a credit card or ATM card, forged checks, counterfeit money or criminal deception may be a sign of fraud, but it may not indicate that a person's identity was stolen. True identity theft occurs when a thief uses a victim's personal information to open new credit accounts, purchase vehicles, or apply for loans (for example).
Some Insurance Carrier's Identity Endorsement provides protection for both fraud and identity theft.
What are the benefits of case management services?
You can drastically reduce the time spent restoring your identity with the use of Case Management Services. The Case Manager will work on you behalf to: call creditors, obtain and review credit reports, contact the Social Security Administration or other government departments, and prepare letters to creditors.
How much does the endorsement cost?
While each carrier is different, the price for most Identity Endorsements range from $20 - $50 per year
